Ko wai mātou? Who are we?

Pae Tū Mōkai Charitable Trust is dedicated to serving our community’s well-being.

Paetūmōkai Charitable Trust (PCT) is a local registered charity run by a board of seven trustees, elected by the local community. Our aim is to benefit the Paetūmōkai / Featherston community, by ensuring everyone has access to kai, providing opportunities through small grants, reducing waste, and planning for the future.

We are also raising funds to support our other community initiatives. We couldn’t keep them running without your generous contributions. Please consider donating by clicking the button below.

ā Mātou Mahi / What We do…

A Mātou Wawata / Our Vision:

A sustainable, waste-free town where everyone contributes to a greener future.

Tā Mātou Arotahi / Our Mission:

To make recycling effortless and ensure no food goes to waste.

OUR HISTORY

The trust was established in 2010 by Stella Smith as Featherston's Own Charitable Trust (FOCT), to operate an Op Shop offering quality goods at affordable prices and providing financial assistance through grants to other local organisations.

Over time, the Trust has expanded to operate Ā Mua, our resource recovery and re-utilisation centre, and funding and operating the Featherston Foodbank. The three businesses are staffed by amazing volunteers and managed by paid staff employed by the Trust, which also employs a part-time office administrator.

We continue to support other local initiatives through grants when able.
