Welcome to the
What is Ā Mua?
It all started with a simple idea: reduce waste, support the community, and make recycling easier for everyone!

Recycling Made Easy ⋆
Ā Mua is a volunteer-run community facility which accepts donations of reusable items that might otherwise end up in landfill, and sells them affordably through our Re Use It! shop to give them a second life. - either as they are, or repurposed into something new. Ā Mua has a Recycling Zone which accepts drop-offs of several recyclable materials not accepted by Council (Materials currently accepted: soft plastics, tetra paks and used batteries). Ā Mua also runs the Wairarapa’s only Tool Library, offering a wide range of tools and equipment for members to borrow. Since opening in May 2021, Ā Mua has become a hub for building community connections, sharing skills, and promoting environmental responsibility.
All profits from the Re Use It! shop fund our other community initiatives, the Featherston Foodbank, as well as being made available to community groups by way of grants from the Trust. Please consider donating by clicking the button below.
